MICHaeL BECK
Michael Beck is an American actor, born on February 4, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. He is best known for his role as Swan in The Warriors and as Sonny Malone in Xanadu.
His first appearance on the big screen was as "Highway Thug" in the 1971 film The Hard Ride, for which he received no credit. His big break was yet to come when, in 1979, he played Swan in the cult film about New York gangs, The Warriors.
The following year, Beck starred as Sonny Malone in the much-maligned roller-skating fantasy musical Xanadu. He was nominated for two Razzie Awards: Worst Actor in 1981 for Xanadu (1980) and Worst Supporting Actor in 1983 for Megaforce (1982). It is strange to me as well that an actor like Michael Beck would receive such poor awards.
But most of his career has been on the small screen, where he starred in numerous TV movies such as "Deadly Game," "Stranger At My Door" and "Wes Craven's Chiller." Of his brief film career, Beck said, "The Warriors opened a lot of doors for me in film that Xanadu closed."
